Health
Plan
The Plano ISD is committed to providing you with a comprehensive
group health plan. The district is self-funded and therefore is
able to maintain a cost-effective benefit package. You may select
the benefit options that best meet your needs. For the most part,
you make the decisions that control the cost and amount
of health care services you use. However, using preferred providers
and the flexible benefit plan can further reduce your health care
costs.

An employee benefit committee works throughout the year with the benefits department staff and a
professional health care consulting firm to monitor the Plan. This committee of employees
represents teachers, paraprofessionals, food and nutritional services,
transportation, facility services, and administrators. CIGNA Healthcare administers our self-funded
medical plans, dental plans, and the flexible spending accounts. ValueOptions, Inc. currently provides an employee
assistance program and mental health services. Nationwide Better Health currently provides a 24/7 Nurse Advice Line for all full-time employees, and also provides disease management and maternity support programs for persons enrolled in our medical plans. Vision Service Plan, Inc. provides our vision insurance plan. We all work together to provide a quality health care plan
for you and your family.
