Parent
Resources
You
are your child's first and most important teacher.
Parents are valued partners in Plano ISD, where we believe
that successful learning is best achieved through collaborative partnerships with parents, families, positive adult and student role models and all sectors of the broader community.
Parent Education & Family Resources
In
addition to the vast resources on this site, Plano ISD's parent education program provides schedules for parenting classes,
conferences and information about the Family
Resource Center lending library. The Plano
ISD Council of PTAs also offers
district-wide workshops on timely parenting topics.
Parent
Involvement / Volunteerism
Our
parents help to ensure the highest levels of student
learning through strong partnerships and collective
accountability. The excellence
in our school system is due, in large part, to the involvement
of our parents and their volunteer
efforts. By sharing their
time, talents and resources as
members of PTAs, mentors to students
at-risk and on district advisory committees, our parents
strengthen the PISD team.
Parents as Partners in Our Schools
Reading
to children, serving as guest speakers, assisting with
PTA and on school
based improvement committees are a
few of the many volunteer opportunities that await parents in Plano
ISD. With 67 schools and
several service facilities, PISD appreciates the valuable
time parents donate to building
brighter futures for our students.
In addition to the resources found on this site, parents are encouraged
to contact their child's teachers and school office
for more information and partner opportunities.
