Elementary Teacher of the Year Award
 Janet Napoli, Plano ISD 2008 Elementary Teacher of the Year, won the Regional Elementary Teacher of the Year Award during a surprise announcement made at the August 21 regional teacher gala and celebration luncheon held in Garland.
PESH vs. PSHS Football Game Date Change
The Plano East / Plano varsity football game date has changed to September 25 (Thursday) at 7:30 p.m. at John Clark Stadium. FOX Southwest Network will broadcast the game live as "Game of the Week". Complete athletic schedules can be found on Plano ISD Assistant Coach.Net.
State Releases Accountability Ratings
On August 1, the Texas Education Agency (TEA) released its annual district and school ratings. Plano ISD rated "exemplary" on 18 out of 25 academic indicators, "recognized" on five indicators and "academically acceptable" on two.
